Come on its not feminine looking, i think it rather has that classic color tone to it. The tinted maple neck is just awesome looking. Ok its $99 what would you expect from guitars on that price list in walmart or ebay for a brand new guitar..probably toys? so save yourself the trouble of having to get that plywood made stuff they usually sell that has the same price tag as this.

Specs, the body is made of alder(neat!), and the neck is maple and also the fretboard is maple..so the plus part.. the maple is somewhat flame figured which gives this cool look + the vintage tint the necks are finished with. The finish is decent its not customshop perfect but the poly finish is exactly thin enough that it doesn't feel it overpowering the resonance of the body.

Hardware: they are the same quality as the squire guitars..they do what they do..another interesting thing about this guitars. Modifying these is such an easy task if you want to improve their overall tone.

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; I got the saddles from GFS or GuitarFetish.com

so here's an actual demo of my SST57

Affordable Guitars? Try SX!

Let's start this blog with an SX guitar introduction and small review. If you are a beginner, someone who likes guitars, parent who can't decide what to get the kid the first guitar, or someone looking for something new to try and upgrade(yep im that kind), SX guitars cover alot of designs for every genre you can think of. Think Ibanez but totally much affordable
In the USA the only place you can get them is Rondomusic - http://rondomusic.com/ and the owner is Kurt Z., he's most helpful to answer your inquiries about the guitars they have.

I can truthfully attest that these guitars have quality, a uniqueness in what they resemble and a sound of their own, just because they are cheap doesn't mean they are toys. For what you pay for you get a lot of guitar. I personally own three of SX guitars and they are nothing but fun fun fun to play! I did modify them to improve the already unique tone they deliver.

Here's a few pics of my SX loot (L to R : SX SST57, SX RST, SX STL50 BSB)

If you're not picky that these are MIC(made in china), these guitars are bang for the buck something you don't see these days from big retailers.

Visit Rondomusic.com to see what they have instock!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bryanarzaga.blogspot.com/2010/01/affordable-guitars-try-sx.html' title='Affordable Guitars?
